About Henry T. Nicholas
Henry Nicholas, co-founder of Broadcom Corporation, established the Henry T. Nicholas, III Foundation in 2006, expanding the scope of his earlier philanthropic commitments to improve the quality of life through investments in education, youth sports, medicine, technology, victim's rights and national defense.
Over the years, Dr. Nicholas has made significant commitments in each of these areas. He has been a major donor to the engineering and computer science programs at the University of California, Irvine, establishing the Nicholas Prize, which is administered by UCI's California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Cal-IT²) and recognizes innovative collaborative research. Dr. Nicholas is a former Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Irvine. He is an ambassador of The UCI Foundation and created the Henry T. Nicholas, III Crew Endowment for the UCI Intercollegiate Athletics Department. Dr. Nicholas also supports the UCI Center for Pervasive Communications and Computing.
